How to Use Waves Wallet Guide

ASSETRON tokens live on the Waves Blockchain - arguably the fastest, and in our opinion best blockchain in the world for the purpose of a utility token, such as ASTRN.

Waves is also extremely easy to use, and does not require third party wallets, exchange accounts and other "outside of blockchain" solutions to be able to interact with the blockchain and have a Waves wallet of your own. Waves Blockain has its own Web Interface - the Waves Wallet, which allows you to create a secure wallet, where you own your own private key - meaning you are the only one that can access the Wallet, and not even the Waves Developers can operate on your Waves Wallet or withdraw funds.

We get a lot of questions on how to best use the Waves Wallet, so we decided to make a guide for all of you.

New Waves Wallet

Step 1

Go to waveswallet.io - this is the only official Waves Wallet website - DO NOT GO TO ANY OTHER WEBSITE that claims to be the official Waves Wallet

Step 2

To generate a NEW Waves Wallet - click on New Account

Step 3

You will receive a notice.

Read this carefully - the main point to take out from the notice - SAVE YOU SEED.

You need the SEED if you ever want to get back into your Waves Wallet, it is your personal private key. I repeat if you do not save your seed, you will never be able to access your Waves Wallet. Your seed is like your safe key, your combination to a lock - but unlike those things, the blockchain is secure, and no one will be able to get into your wallet without the seed, meaning if you lose it, you won't be able to get into your wallet either!

SO SAVE YOUR SEED!!!!!!!

After you have read the notice - click I Understand

Step 4

SAVE YOU SEED

This is where you get the seed in the text box - save this.

You can now pick a username and password - this is only used for your local pc, and if your web browser saves cookies and history, you will be able to login into your wallet without having to re-enter the seed. If you forget your password, your computer doesn't save history or you want to login on another web browser or via an app - this is what the SEED is for, you would import your seed. Instructions for this will be further down.

Once you have entered a username and secure password click Register

Step 5

Done

You are in your Waves Wallet now

Your Wave Wallet Address is the string of numbers on top (starting with 3...)

When you click the wallet address, it get’s automatically copied to your clipboard.

Your Transactions will appear at the bottom.

Step 6

Assetron Tokens

If you got some ASTRN Tokens - you will find them in the portfolio tab (picture of briefcase)

Import Waves Wallet

Step 1

Go to waveswallet.io - this is the only official Waves Wallet website - DO NOT GO TO ANY OTHER WEBSITE that claims to be the official Waves Wallet

Step 2

To import an EXISTING Waves Wallet - click on Import Account

Step 3

WITH YOUR SAVED SEED

You need the SEED if you ever want to get back into your Waves Wallet, it is your personal private key.

Enter the saved seed into the text box - you should see your Waves Wallet Address for which the SEED is for.

Once the seed is entered click Register Account

Step 4

You can now pick a username and password - this is only used for your local pc, and if your web browser saves cookies and history, you will be able to login into your wallet without having to re-enter the seed.

Once you have entered a username and secure password click Register

Step 5

You are in your Waves Wallet now

When you click the wallet address, it get’s automatically copied to your clipboard.

Your Transactions will appear at the bottom.

Just click on the username and it will prompt you to enter the password you set up.

If you forgot your password - you can re-import your seed.

This is why 2FA is not suitable for this client, as you are actually getting your private keys (seed), unlike exchange wallets, where they own the private keys to your Wallet and 2FA authentication is used to protect the account you have with them.

Note: If you lose your SEED, ASTRN Energy or Waves will not be able to grant you access back into your Wallet, or retrieve any Waves, ASTRN or other tokens you have in there.

SO SAVE YOUR SEED!
